Chemical castration of pedophiles begins! First 2,000 injections ready for use

Besides the castration, sexual abuse of children is also punishable by up to 20 years imprisonment in Kazakhstan.
Despite the new law, many people argue that chemical castration isn’t sufficient and that it might lead to future attacks.

As skeptics pointed out, the best way to entirely prevent the attacks would be to force convicted pedophiles to undergo surgical castration.

As the national reports from Kazakhstan explained, the procedures will most likely be carried out at psychoneurological clinics around the country.
The drug that the doctors will administer is a steroidal anti-androgen, Cyproterone, which was originally developed to help fight cancer.
The need for chemical castration was detected due to child rapes in the country getting doubled to nearly 1,000 per year in the years between 2010 and 2014.

The procedure itself, however, is nothing new. Countries such as Indonesia, Poland, Australia, South Korea, and some American states have already been offering it for years –
However, it is usually a voluntary option for those offenders who seek a more lenient sentence.
